It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Guwahati Kendra, an institution dedicated to preserving India’s timeless cultural heritage while nurturing enlightened citizens for a rapidly changing world. Established in 2005, our Kendra proudly carries forward the vision of Kulapati Dr. K.M. Munshi, who founded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in 1938 with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi and the support of eminent national leaders. His vision of harmonising India’s civilisational values with modern education continues to inspire every initiative we undertake.

At the Guwahati Kendra, we believe that culture remains meaningful only when it is experienced, practised and passed on to future generations. Our mission, therefore, extends beyond organising programmes. We strive to create opportunities for young minds to discover the richness of India’s artistic, literary and intellectual traditions while developing character, discipline and a deep sense of national responsibility.
Through Bhavan’s Kala Kendra, we actively preserve India’s classical heritage and Assam’s unique cultural legacy by organizing workshops, competitions, and programs in Bharatanatyam, Sattriya, and Borgeet. Alongside our artistic initiatives, we serve the community through computer literacy, cyber safety programs for senior citizens and yoga.

Assam occupies a special place in India’s cultural mosaic. Our endeavour is to celebrate its rich traditions while strengthening the spirit of national integration envisioned by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. We believe that education must cultivate not only knowledge but also compassion, integrity, creativity and respect for our shared heritage.

None of these achievements would be possible without the dedicated efforts of our kendra committee members, teachers, volunteers, well-wishers and the enthusiastic participation of students and parents. Their unwavering support strengthens our resolve to serve society through education and culture.
